History Happy Hour: Celebrating Dickson Street
July 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm$5
Do you know where Chester’s was? Have you heard of Windy Austin and the Hot House Tomato Boys? Join us as we celebrate the Dickson Street entertainment district and some of the history made right here in Fayetteville!
The Clinton House Museum and Fayetteville Ale Trail are hosting the fourth History Happy Hour of the year! Celebrating Dickson Street is Tuesday, July 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. For decades, Dickson Street has been the iconic center of the Fayetteville entertainment scene, but many things about that neighborhood have changed over the years. Through photos, trivia, and live music, and an exhibit YOU create, we’ll take a trip down old Dickson Street.
An added feature for this event is the community pop up exhibit we’ll be hosting that night! We’d love to “borrow” your photos, t-shirts, CDs, albums, glasses, menus, or any other fun artifacts you have from your time on Dickson Street. You can drop them off at the museum in advance, or bring them with you the night of the event. We’ll make sure everyone gets their artifacts back! For questions or suggestions, contact Flannery Quinn at the Clinton House at 479-444-0066 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets are $5 each at the door (no advance ticket sales) and will get you a pint glass with the HHH logo, two pours, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and music. Details about each event can be found on this website, the Fayetteville Ale Trail site, and on Facebook.
Get text reminders and event updates by texting HISTORYHAPPY to 51555.
Each event is from 6 to 8 p.m., plenty of time for guests to come and go as they like. Parking is available in the museum driveway and across the street.
